Blue Air Transport Aerian S.A is a low-cost airline based in Bucharest, Romania. It started operations in December 2004 and operates services to European destinations. Its main base is Bucharest Baneasa. The airline recently focused also on other Romanian airports, such as Arad, Cluj-Napoca, Bacău and Sibiu.

The airline has been characterised by rapid expansion, a result of the deregulation of the air industry in Europe in 1992 and the success of its low cost business model. Blue Air is one of the largest airlines in Eastern Europe in terms of passenger numbers.

At its founding, it also operated a domestic Bucharest-Timişoara flight, though this was discontinued in March 2005 due to low demand and competition from TAROM as well as rail travel. Blue Air began domestic flights to Cluj Napoca International Airport from Bucharest on 29 October 2006, operated with a Boeing 737.
