Dublin Aerospace win Eazyjet contract.

Irish aircraft maintenance group Dublin Aerospace has landed a major five-year contract with British low cost airline EasyJet,

The company, which has a hangar facility at Dublin Airport, will provide landing gear maintenance for EasyJet’s Airbus fleet and will also provide other checks on nine of the airline’s aircraft.

The contract will lead to the creation of 50 new jobs, bringing the company's workforce to 220 by the end of this winter.

This will involve a $5 million investment in Dublin Aerospace’s facilities here and the creation of a “significant” number of new jobs, sources said. Dublin Aerospace and EasyJet are expected to announce the details of the contract later today.

This is the latest major contract win for Dublin Aerospace.

In July, it won a multi-million contract with Aer Lingus to carry out checks on 12 A320 aircraft from November 1st, a move that is expected to create about 50 new jobs at the company.

Dublin Aerospace was founded last year by former Aer Lingus and Ryanair executive Conor McCarthy, who acquired elements of the former of SR Technics business in Ireland.
